Tirgusceļvedis.lv is Latvia's first digital market guide, bringing together markets, fairs, farms, and food initiatives across the country. It is a place where people can easily find out where markets are held, learn about seasonal products, get to know local producers, and find the nearest place to buy fresh food directly from farmers.
The guide aims to strengthen market culture in Latvia by making local food more visible, accessible, and closer to everyone. It also features initiatives that promote responsible food circulation, from direct purchasing groups to food sharing groups and the latest delivery options.
The market guide was created by the Āgenskalns Market and Kalnciema Quarter team, which has been developing market and community culture in Latvia for more than 15 years. We believe that markets are not only places of trade, but also the center of a living community where people, flavors, ideas, and stories come together. The guide is an open and participatory platform – market organizers, home producers, farmers, and anyone who cares about local food and community life are invited to participate. It will be constantly updated with new markets, stories and opportunities throughout Latvia, and later also across the Baltic States.
The initiative is being implemented with the support of the Rural Support Service and the Ministry of Agriculture, co-financed by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) program "Support for Social Entrepreneurship" and the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA).
